All Things Go, All Things Go

This shoot was wayyyy back in July, but I finally sent the film in to be developed and scanned. :)

The Navy Pier is such a tourist hotspot, but it's super exciting to photograph, and being in Chicago brings Sufjan Stevens' voice to my mind...

"I fell in love again
all things go, all things go
drove to Chicago
all things know, all things know
we sold our clothes to the state
I don't mind, I don't mind
I made a lot of mistakes
in my mind, in my mind

you came to take us
all things go, all things go
to recreate us
all things grow, all things grow
we had our mindset
all things know, all things know
you had to find it
all things go, all things go."

Old Camera Reinvented

Say "hello" to my new vintage, medium format film camera!

I'm going to have a lot of fun with this one!

The Yashica Mat-124 was made from 1968 till 1971 and was the second-to-last Twin Lens Reflex camera produced by Yashica. Even today, in the era of digital photography, medium format film cameras like this one are praised for their extremely detailed image quality, especially with regards to portraiture and commercial photography.

The 124 has a four-element, 80mm F3.5 taking lens, of the better "Yashinon" variety. Focusing is via a ground glass screen, with a 3x diopter loupe for critical focusing. The focusing screen is used with the camera at waist-level.

Polka Dots and Bokeh Dots

Talk about a lot of dots! :P

Little Abi truly knows how to ham it up in front of the camera, and she's the daughter of some truly charismatic parents. I love this family, and they loved the shots!

The Holler

Hocking Hills made for quite an exciting and perfect weekend on August 26-27!… Cool weather, darling decoration by Ju Ju, the family’s smiles and cries, Cameron’s emotional letter from Carter’s point of view, the crowd of friends and family, and the relaxed atmosphere really made it a special two-day event. We felt so blessed to be a part of Jodi and J-D’s celebration!

The pictures prove how magical, how heartfelt, and how earth-friendly this event truly was!

Baiwee, My New Trainee

Get to know Bailey, my new photography trainee...

"Supp, I'm Bailey.
I like to turn the speed all the way up on my treadmill, close my eyes and just run...it makes me feel like i'm getting somewhere..
I love to fall, I hate hitting the ground. The only reason I don't bungee jump is because I'm afraid of cords breaking
I'd climb a mountain but I'm afraid of heights..I think I'll stick to the stairs..
I want to take all of this unoriginal repetitive stuff that's become the norm and set it on fire, and then build something new from the ashes. I want to dance to the beat of my own drum, then get bored and start playing the tuba! I don't promise that you'll know my name one day, or that you'll ever read about me in a magazine, but I do promise that I'm going to try my hardest to make it happen...
I feel weightless and yet I never float away. I think there must be an invisible cord tethering me to the ground, keeping me stuck here. I'd love to cut it and see where the warm breeze takes me"...click here for more...
